Budget Update

Budget Update
In an effort to get the next State Budget passed, Gov. Doyle recently proposed a compromise budget for the legislature to consider. The State Assembly did not vote to approve that version of the budget on Monday, October 15, 2007. Currently the Assembly Republicans are attempting to hold an extraordinary session on two portions of the budget, but not the entire budget. The portions do not include long term care funding. The Senate Democrats are interested in passing the entire budget at once. If the entire budget is not passed soon, long term care programs will be cut 15%.

Please call your legislators and describe to them the impact cuts to services will have on not only the people you serve, but the people who provide the services.
